And if you told some of 'em there used to be a dimmer switch down there to the left of the clutch you hear "what's a clutch?"
Or even better told 'em that some earlier models had a starter pedal on the floorboard near the accelerator you'd hear "OK now you're just yanking my chain." :lmao:

I remember having to use my right foot on the starter and left foot on the gas pedal to try to get that old Chevy truck started.
Yep, my granddaddy's '53 Chevy panel truck (he worked for a dry cleaner) had a floor starter..

I do still miss the headlight switch on the floor. Half the time I want to flash someone now I either get the wipers or realize that I need to turn a dial instead and then it's too late.
Tell me about it.

Because the wife's 2020 Fusion has a dial transmission selector on the console, the wipers are on the right.
On my 2018 F-150, which has a lever transmission selector on the steering column, the wipers are on the left.

I'm just happy both have the gas cap on the left (driver's) side . The 2017 Escape (which I totaled on a deer Christmas Eve 2019) had the gas cap on the right.

My daughter just bought a manual Tranny Jeep. Her sister can't drive it, majority of the younger generations can't either, good theft deterrent. She said her son will learn how to drive it when he gets of age. I am proud of her...
