G1 5.5.x to 5.6.x firmware update query

I have a DS-7616NI-SP NVR with 3.4.5 firmware and have a DS-2CD2355FWD-I G1 camera attached with V5.5.83 build 190221 firmware.

It is possible to update to v5.6.6 firmware on the G1 and still work?

Have not updated previously due to concern about the no going back from v5.6.x without a lot of issues and still want a working camera!

Yes, it is - I have several G1 cameras on 5.6.5 that work OK, I've not seen any reasons to revert.
But I'd caution you against doing this just because you can.
It's best to have a reason for doing so.
Despite that Hikvision don't give much detail in their release notes, there are quite a few published in the various minor versions before 5.6.6 that I'd encourage you to read.
