Hardware decoding causing bands of corruption

I searched and didn't find much on this, other than troubleshooting I've already tried. When enabling hardware decoding, several of my cams show bands of corruption across the top:

BI_4.3.9.7_corruption.JPG

System:

  • BI v4.3.9.7 x64
  • W10 Home
  • i5-6400 w/ Intel HD530 integrated graphics
  • Cams: Amcrest IP3M-954E / Dahua IPC-HFW4421SP / Dahua IPC-HFW1320SP

Troubleshooting so far:

  • Intel graphics updated to latest drivers (corruption occurred before upgrade as well)
  • All cams at latest firmware (with corruption happening prior upgrade)
  • Switched all cams from H.264H to H.264 (read this in a previous thread as a possible fix...unfortunately not)
  • Tried HD (no VPP) and HD+VPP...same issue
  • Tried running BI as a service and not as service...same issue
  • Verified that the resolution BI shows for each cam matches what the cam is configured to...another thread mentioned a mismatch causing extra lines of blank pixels...

Anything else I can try? CPU w/out decoding is ~34% (with console open), so not critical to get it working, but if it's worth it, I'd like to take advantage of the feature.

I would have suggested to make sure you're using H.264 and no other format in your camera settings....your symptoms are identical to mine when I have H.264+ set in my Hiks....but it appears you've checked that. Have you made sure your camera's iframes match that of your camera's fps? Did you try a reboot of affected cameras after changing the H.264 settings? That's all I've got....good luck.

I'm having the same exact issue. I have the Amcrest IP3M-954E cams. Only happens when the hardware decoding is enabled.

Currently working with Amcrest to see if they can figure out the issue. Will post back if we get anything figured out.

System:
i7 4790K, 16GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro
Latest version of BI

can you force a TCP stream instead of UDP?

In my case, the only times it did that I disabled and enable the cam and it would stop doing this.

I have the same issue with my Amcrest IP3M956E's and IP3M954E's. My other cams work fine with hardware acceleration turned on (Yes - No VPP). these cams I have to turn it off to get rid of ghosting. I also changed the cams to do direct to disk which helps a lot with CPU. My CPU run around 25 - 30%

I have tried changing the camera settings from H264h (high profile) to normal H264 and still get the same issue.
