has there been a change?--Scrubbing Timeline to view cameras

I have 2 BI systems.
One is personal have 20 cams running 5.7.7.18 from 2023 (it aint broke so I'm not upgrading)
The second is a very small system with 4 cams running the latest (today) 5.9.9.47 that I installed this week for my neighborhood.
both running the same HP G2 pro/elite desk i7 with 32GB ram and SSD main drive and 4TB HD for storage (my personal one has more storage but specs are o/w very similar).
Both are set to CONTINUOUS recording.

in my personal system with older software if I want to move back in the timeline it will speed through through the feed on all cameras that are showing on the middle portion of my screen. I click replay and I can scrub every camera at once or switch groups and only scrub through the feeds for the group I have selected. my timeline has orange alert markers across the top and as I scroll past those the clips window changes . it is intuitive and easy.

on the new system with only four cameras and the newest software, it actually has thumbnails on the timeline (my personal system does not). but otherwise it has alert icons and since we activated the AI project it also has cars and people icons as well. But I cannot get it to allow me to scrub the timeline. if i click on replay and try to scrub it will move the timeline and I can hear sounds from the clips that correspond with the thumbnails and the clips window changes but the main screen of visible cameras never changes. The only way I can see a feed is to go into my NEW folder and find the corresponding bvr and then I can open that and view. I have them set to record for 2 hours or 3GB and then start a new file

Previously, on the new system instead of being a continuous blue band with alert markers there are black sections like video is not CONTINUOUSLY being recorded. (All the cameras show the Record icon.) if I look in the new clips section it shows me a bvr file for each camera. Since the last reboot I switched it to Continuous sub+ triggered then I let it record for a bit then I switched it back to continuous. that seemed to fix the holes in the timeline.

The only thing I can think is that somewhere in the last few versions the ability to scrub and view has changed in some way.

Things I have tried:

Database: tried repair, tried regenerate, delete and regenerate.
Program: I uninstalled BI entirely then tried to add it back, still didn't work.

What am I missing to make BI behave like it needs to behave?

Thanks

Shawn

I have now read all the updates between my two versions and it answered absolutely zero questions. and from the help section it appears it is supposed to function as my Older version works. copied from the help file...

Timeline playback opens a display with a camera layout similar to the live camera display. All clips which were open for recording at the time represented by the green positionindicator and timecode will be opened for playback. You can reposition by clickinganywhere in the timeline view, or clicking and dragging to “scrub” the video. It’s also possible to click and drag the date and time bar at the top of the timeline whileplayback is paused.
so, My question remains the same. What am I missing to make BI behave like it needs to behave?

See this post HERE
1. Doesn't address my issue.
if I scroll on timeline NOTHING CHANGES. I see the skipping between alerts but I'm looking at a loss of function.
I want the ability to scrub a large time period looking for a specific thing. If I use replay on the timeline I don't jump between alerts on the video I see NOTHING. I can see the changing thumbnails on the timeline and I can HEAR that clips are being scrubbed based on audio that plays but the center screen with the selected videos do not play. This is basic NVR type functionality.

2. I can't tell from this explanation on the above post if the scrubbing of non alert items has simply been removed and if so, why leave continuous recording as n option because you can't view it using the normal interface.

So my issue is that unless I specifically open a clip on the alert field I cannot see previous recordings. and if for some reason an adjacent camera didn't trigger at the same time there is no easy way to see what happened on that camera at the same time.

Timeline playback in the local console does appear to be broken in latest Blue Iris. You should send in a support ticket (Blue Iris Settings > Get support button > Email Support > Copy button).

In the meantime you can use the ui3 web interface's timeline as that still is working.

How far back is it broken? I'd be happy to roll back to a previous version until it is fixed.

I apologize, you made it clear you uploaded it to the link above and I missed it. I had limited time to do the update this morning and i got there and it just did the check for updates and it wasn't there. I'll get back to it early this afternoon and hopefully that will get it fixed.
