I've been using Foscam for a couple of years now and found their software frustrating. I wrote my own web UI that would take of snapshot from each camera every second to make it look like a live stream yet still keep some security. After having one of the Foscams die, I bought an Amcrest. Much better image quality mainly because it was newer and then I found out here that Amcrest is just a re skinned Foscam. Then I discovered Blue Iris and it has been a game changer. I've been using Blue Iris for about a week now and love it. I've even decided to add another camera and ordered a Dahua after reading reviews here. The information here in these forums is awesome. I work in IT so the computer and networking stuff is second nature but I was surprised at how little I knew about security cameras. What started as a need to monitor the outside of the house has now become a new hobby. This stuff is fun!
