Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Recreational weed.... and it's already a beautiful state... why stay in CA when Colorado has everything? :) I wanted to buy a house out there, but missed the boat a few years back.

Im trying to record to my NAS on alarm whilst waiting for my NVR to arrive.
I can record the live video by selecting the video icon on the live feed but the record on alarm don't write to the same folder on my NAS.
I think I got all set up good but a quick check list might help.

Many events triggered but nothing recorded.

click on schedule under Storage and make sure you have that setup

I'm trying to convince the woman that 2 cameras on each side of the garage won't be bad. :) I'd like to use a turrent for LPR but not sure if that will work.

12mm isn't going to do squat unless you mount the thing on a mailbox right next to the road, and then MAYBE.

I don't think so since the picture became darker. I am in a rural setting where there is virtually no light, so it is of some interest to me. I do think "Auto" is probably fine for most situations. I still want that faster shutter for less smear, but need to try the new firmware as @nayr reports improved performance.

I noticed last night if you have enabled WDR then the Manual Exposure option is limited to 0 to 40ms (0 to 1/25th second.) I'm guessing that is also the case if you leave it in "Auto". If you disable WDR you can then select 0 to 330ms (up to 1/3 second.) So that probably means Auto can also utilise that range.

Hikvision do the same limitation with WDR enabled. I think it's due to the processing times with Wide Dynamic Range.

today just finished the talking with dahua guys, will have some more new cams will release soon. Bad luck, got a bad cold, Shenzhen has 27 degrees, here Hangzhou only 10degrees, big difference. the stock, no worry, 110pcs on the way to my office now. Another 220pcs i think this week also can be closed.
Sorry for all delayed answering. Here is the West lake picture i taken this afternoon. I also will bring some news about some new cams and Tech. also dahua policy for the selling in USA.

This is always fun 15ft up on a ladder. :) I haven't taken the time to figure it out, but usually 20-30 seconds with twisting stuff around, it pops back on for me.

general is the one that records constantly, I was not able to check off that box and have the green lines show up on the schedule until I put an SD card into the camera.

NAS Storage generally sucks

when would you need to buy the PFB203W

Wondering about this also.

I see that it will give more standoff from the wall to allow a better angle of view options.

Other than that, does using the PFB203W provide any additional advantages?

it could also mean you drill a smaller hole in the wall for your network cable to pass thru ( as the other power cable could be stored in the mount???)

...when it comes to recording simultaneous data streams from video cameras. A good quality modern NVR has an incoming bandwidth in the range of 300+ Mbps. A consumer grade NAS, if the rating is even listed on the spec sheet, is lucky to have 10 percent of that.

How much are one of these non consumer NVR's?

Can you expand on the settings you made or any way to test alarm recordings?
If I click the video camera icon on the live view that records to the NAS with no drama
