Help Deciding on Cameras

I am looking to get 2 IP PoE cameras soon and looking for suggestions. Here are the details:


•Cameras will be mounted 2 stories up, mounted to underside of soffit.
•Cam1 will be pointed at front entryway/porch. Possibly 10-12' away at a sharp angle (almost straight down). I could move this further away but would only get the side-ish view of porch.
•Cam2 will hopefully be able to get the most of the driveway and street which is about 30' away.


I am definitely not opposed to going with some of obscure stuff if I am getting better performance for my money. I would like to keep in under ~$150 per camera.

EDIT: Looking at the Longse S500 thread.. Looks good. Would this be a good choice for me?

All the reading I've done the past few days it seems like I made a good choice.. Although there are plenty of great choices out there. Makes things difficult.

You have a very similar installation on your porch cam that I'm wanting to set up.

I'm curious about the deciding factors led to you choosing this camera.
It says weatherproofing not available, aren't you worried it might get ruined outside, or is it actually weatherproof?
Also, how can you select POE? I only see this choice:
Sensor Size:

• MTV Board Len
• CS Len 5mm
