If you have a spare PoE injector laying around, I'd just connect the camera to the main network through a spare PoE injector and web-managed network switch, change the DHCP range and gateway, static IP the laptop, ping the camera through cmd.exe to check for connection status, login into camera, change IP manually in software GUI to fall within the desired IP range range and ensure its static. Don't connect to the rear of NVR.
