yeah.. someone manage this device (and feed it with internet).. maybe the feeder assign any M5 to a vlan.. so you are maybe already in your own vlan.
really depends what you want.
"most" secure way would be to use your own router and connect the M5 to the WAN side.
the firewall should block any traffic which starts from the wan side to your lan side.
it would be still possible to capture any traffic going to the internet from lan, but when using zerotier/vpn it should be impossible to read something useful.
if you connect routers together you end up in double-nat scenarios.
some things wont work with double nat.
in theory double-nat shouldnt be a problem with zerotier, but never tried.
