Hi- I am having a hard time finding installers that seem to understand what I need (Chicago area). They just want to sell what they have the best margin in my opinion. I get upset because I start to talk to them about cams, and they seem to ignore image sizes and sell the mp. I am thinking a budget somewhere around 3k just for the cameras. I leave my house lights on at night and we have one street light on in the middle of our court. I have a large F350 pickup I park on the left side of the driveway- (looking at the house- close to the garage). I also have a golf course in our backyard, which is beautiful, but does present some security concerns in my opinion. My attic on the second floor is very tight and there is some limited access. So the last quote was running the wires in my gutters. Which I don't have a problem with that and some conduit on the sides of the house to get the wires up to the eves. Either way, I will have to hire for the install as I don't have the time or knowledge for it.
My thoughts- install a PTZ camera on top floor right side front (looking at front of the house (SD5A425GA-HNR?) and then what maybe 5842's for the other cams? I have a long front yard and want to see cars and obtain some positive ID. A plate would be awesome but at night especially I understand it may not be possible. The sat image shows a tree that no longer exists. I am also just looking into spotter cams about that and how to assist the the PTZ. For that matter maybe a PTZ would work well in the backyard as well- I don't know. I do like the ability to hear audio- I am going to guess I don't need a speaker on it though. Any suggestions?
