Hello all,

Have just joined this forum, and am pleased to be here. I have been going mad trying to resolve a problem with my setup. I will explain. I have a two camera setup, witha third to be added later. One of the cameras is a Escam QD500 Snail, and the other two cameras are Sricam AP003. Initially i had only the Esam running, with its proprietry software and it worked well, but seeing that i was going to add more, and got a bit of a deal on the two SRIcam models, i realised i needed some generic software to run them all.

When setting up the Escam in Genius Vision, all went well and everything works fine. I was pleased given my very limited knowlage of IP cameras. However, trying ro set up the Sricam is a different matter. The only way i have managed to get a picture from it is ti use the Finder tool that comes bundled with the camera. As yet, nothig ive tried gets Genius Vision to see it. Should i be using a different piece of software?

I will add the second Sricam into my setup as soon as i manage, if ever, to get this one working. I am not using wireless on any of my cameras, all are wired to my pc via a hub. I do not wish to view them over the internet or via smartphone, only via software on my pc!

Any help would be greatly appriciated. This is driving me nuts!!!

Regards
Phil

Alao, i have noticed there is a lot of support on here for blue iris. I did get a copy of Blue Iris however, im too much of a beginner to get along with it. I did try setting my cameras up with it but i was obviously doing something wrong because i couldnt get either of them to work and so tried Genius Vision!!!!

Welcome to the forum...the issue you are having is either not having the proper ip address for the cameras or not have the right url and pulling the wrong stream.
The first question is can you access all your cameras directly via your web browser?
Second, does the genious vision software have an option to select sricam?

Finally, the sricam and escam are very low end junk brands..you can get MUCH better cameras for the same price or maybe a bit more, from dahua or hikvision...if you can return them that would be the best option.

Blue iris will work with these cameras (genious vision probably will as well)..

Thanks for replying. Sending them back is not an option, so would like to get them to work. The Escam is good, in terms of picture quality etc, and works fine with genius vision. When i initially explored blue iris, which seemed a better, more polished piece of software, there was no option for either make. I have the IP addresses for both cameras, but that is the extent of my knowladge on this subject. I think i would prefer to use BLue Iris as, like i said, its a better piece of software. Anyone know the settings for these cameras, or a piece of software i could use to obtain the relevant settings i need to input into Blue Iris to get them working!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Blue iris has a listing for the sricam camera. There are two escam options..if neither work you can try using generic rtsp and use this path /user=[USERNAME]&password=[PASSWORD]&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?

You need to replace the user name and password with the actual user name and password and remove the brackets []

Thanks for replying again. Have tried both the options in Blue Iris and neither Escam option worked. I also tried your path, following the instructions and that didnt work either, saying that i had an IO error. When inspecting those settings it ends up checking compatability with a series of Foscam cameras, and then it says done. When it then restarts the camera i end up with an IO error!!!

When you tried to the path did you select generic rtsp h.264/mpeg etc from the top of the camera list?
Did you enter the user name and password correctly?
Are you using the correct port?
If any of this is not exact, it will not work.
The inspect button will not work for this camera.

If this doesnt work you can try using onvif device manager to get the url http://sourceforge.net/projects/onvifdm/
Also, ipcamviewer by robert chou has a scan feature that might give you a compatible camera that may be on the list. (its a mobile app)

As i can manage, yes. I selected the correct one from the list, and i only entered a username as there is no password. Dont know what you mean by port. YES im that much of a beginner!

If there is no password you need to remove the password in the path..post a screenshot of your settings
The rtsp port 554...if you changed that in your camera then it needs to be changed in blue iris...

Figured that, so i did indeed remove that from the path.

first there should only be one / before admin..also you still need to leave password= in the path like this.....
/user=admin&password=&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?
if this doesnt work i would add a simple password like 12345 so you can add it to the string and see if that helps
is the ip address of the escam 192.168.1.10?

You sir are a total STAR! I at least now have the Escam working. Do you think youll be able to do the same for the Sricam i got. The only picture ive been able to get from that is from a bit of software that comes with it called P2P id and it gives a thumbnail of the live feed from the camera, along with the ip address etc. This one too has no password. Have attached a screenshot.

Hopefully well have the same success with this one.

Now ive got my cameras ( 1 more to be added when my cables turn up), working, thanks to fenderman i have a question regarding Blue Iris. I only have the evaluation version at the mo, planning to purchase the full version during the week. Will learn the software and get the hang of it over time. My immediate question regards the recording. Whenever i click on record i only get a 30 second recording, and i like to leave mine recording for days at a time and have no requirement for motion detection!

How do i adjust the settings to allow this.
