Hik password unknow

Hi , okay got hold of a 4ch NVR & cameras , but the problem is can't access the NVR due to wrong password , original own seems to think password was never changed from 123456789abc
As it stands now I get NO LINK no cameras ...so his story is all was working then lost link to all cameras & can not access with the password 123456789abc...
Anyway have a read on forum but any help appreciated..

Hi have used SADP to access serial & try to reset password on NVR , using the hikvision password reset tool...

Have tried both both ways, with &'without model number at start of serial..

Year , month , day all correct ...

Comes back with password (failed to reset password. Other 2001)

Any ideas ? thank you for your help...

What model and version of firmware does SADP show, and what does it show for the serial number?

If it's definitely an -NI model, you will be able to use the tftp updater tool to apply the same version of firmware, which implicitly (only via the tftp tool) resets to defaults.
But it all depends on what you advise SADP is showing.

SADP - it's really a DS-7604N-E1/4P. So I'm guessing can't do a firmware update ?

Interesting. That's an unusual disparity. The label could be more readily forged than the internals.
Did it come with an original box, any thing on there for model number?

If you're lucky the NVR bootloader will still support the Hikvision tftp updater tool.
This doesn't need any passwords to do the update, and wipes the configuration as part of the process.
The tool and instructions (not the firmware) can be found in the second link of the first post here : Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English
If the NVR doesn't do the tftp update any more - a serial TTL to USB convertor and a suitable wired connector to hook up the serial console will be needed.
Check your 'Conversations'.
