I connect another (new, unboxed) cam with 5.2.8 on stick on package and 5.2.3 real inside and then tried "prtHardInfo". Result? Language = 1? How is it possible?

I to have got 7 x 2732's from china to sydney. I have the same problem as you with cams rebooting on V5.2.8. CBX is right DO NOT DOWNGRADE PAST V5.2.5. You will brick your camera. The only thing a brick is good for is to throw through the window of your chinise supplier!

best option is to tftp 5.2.5 to the camera, get the serial number via sadp, and forward it to the supplier and they should be able to send you a fix.

Where can I find this 5.2.5 update. I'm in the same boat as others. Received a DS-2332 from amazon.com with 2.5.8 on the label but the firmware said 5.2.0? tried updating to 5.2.3 but locked up and can no longer get to camera. tried the tftp thing but cam reboots. "IR lights up for a min or so and turns off" restarting 20-30 sec's later. Can't find a site to debrick this. Any help or links would be appreciated.

Edit: I ment to say versions. 5.2.8 on the label on bottom of cam but installed software was 5.2.0.

Yes I do. None of the version of 5.2.0 or 5.2.3 would load. Would Tftp successfully but just reboot before they had a chance to load.

It's two ways:
1) flash 5.2.5 and have cam with chinese menu

2) hack MTD5 and 6

Well thanks for your answer but my original question was where can I get a copy of 5.2.5 or even the new 5.3.0 that I read was out. I have the tools and knowledge to hack... telnet and ssh into the cam but I have to have a working firmware/rom to do that. It doesn't help that my camera is rebooting before it loads the rom. I need a usable rom to do any hacking to change it to English.

So I'll ask this again. Does anyone have a working link to any... any working 5.2.0, 5.2.3, 5.2.5,5.28 or the newer 5.3.0 rom/firmware please. None of the one's I have found on this site seem to work or are corrupted. I just need one... any working so I can go from there to get inside one so I can get it to at least boot. Chinglish or English is preferred.
