An interesting commentary we see from these images that many of us talk about - having more than one camera and overlap.

So we see he has at least 3 cameras kinda covering his smallish front area (what is that 10 feet by 20ish feet) and we get new posters here thinking they can cover their entire 1/4 acre lot with 4 cameras LOL.

Pointless sharing setting as these are set to my location and enviroment which would not work with your enviroment. It is all about fine tuning and getting the best image possible for your location depending on how much light you have available and setting your camera's exposure etc to that.

The street lights I have are LED which help loads from the sodium ones they replaced.

ANY camera needs light full colour or not and I am pretty lucky to have a street light outside my house on the pathway but most people have this street lights .

3 Cams on my front which i think is needed and more if you wanted DORI face recognition but this is why I have fitted a PTZ so it can zoom in and get a decent image of people walking past.

I also think I have covered an area from my front door to a 200 mtr plus area with my PTZ which should be enough for me as we have a few cars and have to park up the road and down the road and also in the street ahead.

To get a proper face recognition I would probably need another 3-4 camera's to cover the view of a single 2.8mm lens.
I have a plan in the future to enclose 3 camera's LCR in the Bay Window sofit and have the PTZ working of those 3 cams.

You have quite a bit of light available and your DS-2CD2087G2-LU is by far the best image with its F1:0 lens and 1/1.2" sensor.Your DS-2CD2155FWD-I with its 1/2.9" sensor is not cutting it for your back yard and would look at another DS-2CD2087G2-LU or something with a 1/8" sensor.

What does it look like with motion?

Shutter looks good, but gain at 100 can cause issues, as can backlight at night; and others are at default.

Looks like Default Values and forget WDR at night. Also dome cames don't cut it at night as they get glare and the plastic dome degrades.

On that camera lower the contrast to 49 or below impoves the brightness of the image. try your DS-2CD2087G2-LU at the back of the house and I assure you that your will be happy to what you see.

motion look good to my eye, not blurry at all and "smooth", you can see previous my previous post in this thread to see a car moving

yes mostly all default setting, by memory I just enabled some setting and changed the exposure from 1/12 to 1/120 i need to setup the image parameters switch with custom one that would switch automatically at some point
but i need it otherwise the light on the house is WAY too bright

I just tried at 40, not much change (to my eye) maybe because of WDR?

I Only have Solar LED in my back yard and is pretty dark and I enable the onboard LED to around 30 on mine and looks ok.

You can turn WDR off and adjust the other settings so motion looks ok as in up the exposure from 1/12 to 1/100 also make sure you adjust the Space DNR and Time DNR to a level that looks ok and doesn't introduce too much noise.

i will, i just need the time to setup this, i need a case where a car turn into my driveway with light to see what it will look like

Set your Image parameter switch to what time daylight drops and then when sun rises like 6am and 7pm. I have mine set now to change to night mode at 7pm and daytime to 7am as the nights are drawing in and make sure ou set these to 12 months period with the green calender symbol at the end of January.

You will also need to set up datime - Normal and night time which I have set to Low Light on my camera so the camera switches between voth for the best possible picture Day & night.

The DS-2CD2087G2-LU looks perfect for that location

my plan is to change my front camera with a 4k turret (colorvu) next year (between may / september) i don't need a ptz and i realized that after the fact

the back side, i'm "ok" so far with the camera that i currently have, i might move my ptz in the back when i change it, not sure

Try to avoid dome cams as they reflect at night.

Sensor Size 1/1.8" - 4mp max Res
Sensor Size 1/2.8" - 2mp max Res

The HIKVISION DS-2CD2087G2-LU is an excellent camera also with a 1/1.2" Sensor and F1:0 lens but please bear in mind "EVERY" camera needs light at night.
