Hi I am have a de-2cd2032 cameras and I would like to connect it to my LAN. As I will not be using a Poe switch a power adapter is the only other option. I'm in the UK and I believe I need a 12v adapter, but trying to find the amps it uses it quite difficult. I have looked at the manual online and cannot find anything. For a previous camera ( different make) I used a 12v 2amp and it worked.

which adapter would work in volts and amps?

regards

In the manual for my camera it gave me the voltage and the watts required. For future reference you can work out the current (amps) by using the formula Amps = Watts divided by Volts. I was using a 12v, 1 amp power supply for my Hik 2032 and it was fine.

As long as your voltage is correct (this you can not play with), you can use any amperage above the minimum required. The unit that is plugged in (in this case a camera) say needs 1amp to run if you use a 12v 20amp supply it will only supply the one amp that is required.

Thanks for the replys just did not want to stick any power adapter and find out I fried the circuit of the camera as it's very expensive. What about the jack size?

You can get a Hikvision Power supply in the UK here. I think it's 2.1mm.

And for DS-2CD2032-I, I was previously using 1A and it was more than enough. The 1.5A version they have is for 2 cameras.
