hikvision ds-2cd2532f-is iws please help

hi guys I am wanting to buy the hikvision ds-2cd2532f-model camera
can someone please tell me will the mic work over the poe cable on its own or do I need extras
all I want to do is listen to any voices or noises when watching playback thanks

The internal mic on this camera works fine over POE and nothing further is needed. I use this camera in conjunction with Blue Iris and I am able to listen to voices fine.

thanks for your reply just wasn't sure as i have couple people saying you can't listen and a couple saying that i can.

all of the audio data is sent through the network cable just like the video data is. Just make sure to crank up the input volume on that mic within the software to really get the full effect of the microphone.

Anyone who says you cant is simply wrong. Its works just fine.

A pickup? The -IS model has a built in mic..this is unique to the mini domes..the other -IS models need a mic. Who is telling you this?
