HikVision DS-2CD2722FWD-I - IVMS4200 Error HCNetSDK.dll[7]

Add to your PC 192.0.0.128 address and using TFTP restore you IPC with more fresh firmware.
Deal with the wires, addresses and devices on your network.
Use DHCP to get addresses to your devices.
Who issues DHCP?
I am not even able to update firmware over TFTP.

I have the camera connected to my PC via the ethernet cable haha,
Well, that explains the problem. I don't believe you mentioned that ...
Your PC is using a 'self-administered IP address' as it is set for DHCP but there is no DHCP server available.
Set the PC IP address to 192.168.1.128 say, and the browser will work with the camera.
After you take the camera off DHCP with SADP, set the IP address to 192.168.1.64 say.

i did say "So i got home and i connected my camera using a 12V 1A power source i had laying around, and an ethernet cable to my PC just to get a feel for how IVMS works." so i apologise if i didn't make it clear.

i've attached the photo that i have changed the IP of the IPC accordingly but it still seems persistent on now recognising it, i also disabled DCHP.

Could it be a faulty camera?

You have set the IP address of the camera to that I suggested for the PC.

But what is the IP address of the PC? You need to manually set this to be in the same range as that used by the camera, for example 192.168.1.200 (as .128 is now in use by the camera).
Could it be a faulty camera?
I doubt that.
The problem is all in the networking configuration.

Ah bugger. Sorry. I'll have another bash at it tomorrow evening and hopefully sort something. My job for tomorrow is to set a static IP for my computer now then.

Hello,
I know this is a long shot as its an old thread but I am having the EXACT same problem as you are. Do you remember how you were able to fix it? I have tried everything to the moon and back.

Thank you.
