HIKVISION DS7608NI / K2 8P - possibly bricked after firmware update to NVR_IXX-KXX_BL_EN_STD_V3.3.2_150627

Hi,

I've updated the firmware (or tried to!) on my 7608 - the device seemed to be stuck in some kind of boot sequence with a single beep periodically - I mistakenly pulled the power thinking a power cycle will sort it
I now have a device that won't output to HDMI or VGA - it's not showing up through SADP (other HIK POE switch powered cameras are still online and showing up) - i've confirmed that it's not showing up on my switch either.
Is there anything I can do to get this back to life? I haven't removed the harddrive yet - but there is no beeping to say that the hard drive is in error.
