Hi Everybody,

I use several Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I with iVMS-4200 Client and Storage Server to monitor area in front of the house. I want the camera to start recording if a person or a car appears (=intrusion).

But as the camera sees trees and grass so there are a lot of false alarms, especially in
a) a windy weather
b) at night when flying insects and rain drops are visible with IR

Sensitivity is set to minimum (20). If I set it to 0, no events will be triggered.

How can I avoid false alarms or at least decrease them?

Take a look at the 'Smart Events' capabilities of the camera - intrusion detection and line crossing detection.
They can be tuned much better than simple motion detection to reduce unwanted alerts.

Thanks, I am testing them but would appreciate particular recommendations - for example, in Intrusion detection what to set for Percentage, Sensitivity, Trigger Time Threshold.
