I have a hikvision nvr ds-7608ni-i2/8p nvr. Everything was working great, then all of a sudden it stopped working. The power supply runs fine, but i can’t access it locally or remotely. Nothing shows on the screen locally. There were no power outages, and it always runs on a ups.

Is it dead? Did somehow the firmware get scrambled and I can reflash it?

I don’t get a beep or the logo.

I think the power supply is fine, because the fans run, I can hear the hard drives run up, and there is a red light that comes on, on the board.

That's a good indication, you're right.

I presume warranty isn't an option?

The way to determine if there is any internal activity would be to hook up to the serial console.
This is easy enough to do - but you need a couple of items :
A serial TTL to USB convertor. A PL2303HX-based one works OK, often sold 'for Arduino'.
A 4-pin 1.5mm ZH JST wired connector, usually sold in 10-packs.
