Need some help on how to access my NVR.
It was hacked and I did a factory restore.
It will not accept any password then or now.
SADA tool is not working since I don't know any password.

I was thinking about TFTP but could not find the files and don't know how to use it.

It was hacked and I did a factory restore.
A 'restore to defaults' on all but very old firmware will place the NVR in an 'Inactive' state.
It will not accept any password then or now.
If the state is 'Inactive' it requires that you 'Activate' it by creating your own strong password.

This can be done via SADP or by browsing to the NVR IP address.
SADA tool is not working since I don't know any password.
What does SADP show for the status - Active or Inactive?

If it really was hacked but you didn't reset it to defaults - try 1111aaaa for the password.

I was thinking about TFTP but could not find the files and don't know how to use it.
You have not specified the full model number.
There are multiple series of NVR that start '7616'

I looked at the other threads but cannot follow it and I have limited computer skills.
It was hacked. Password was changed and cannot be reset. I cannot access many of the features.
I upgraded it 4.0 but the password was still locked.
Password was pre-populated with many +++++++
Did a factory reset but password remains the same - will not accept any input.
I was able to use the keyboard to back space all the +++ and entered 1111aaaa but it did not take.
However because of all the attempts, I have lost all passwords.
Model DS-7616-NI-I2
I was able to activate it via SADP
Again the password field is pre-populated with many ++++ and will not accept change using the mouse.

UPDATE
As of now, the NVR is booting up as 4.0 and asking for admin password.
I have no idea what the password is because of the many attempts to fix it.
SADP can see the NVR but don't know SADP or NVR password.
I did try SADP import file but it failed to change the password.
So I am stuck at the NVR password

I do believe that the tool to re-create a security key using the serial number and the system startup date can help me but i could not find a link to download it.
