So I am after my first two cameras decided on two poe cameras and buying a switch TP-LINK TL-SG1008P so I can power and connect them to my ftp server this should work fine? When going to buy the hikvision and read some of the questions and noticed that trendnet are doing the same camera re branded but slightly cheaper my question is are they exactly the same camera? Is there any problem buying the one of the other?

HIKVISION DS-2CD2032-1 IP True Day Night 3 MP IR Bullet CCTV Camera
or
TRENDnet TV-IP310PI Outdoor 3 Megapixel Full HD PoE Bullet Day/Night Network Camera

The OEM'S are the same, The Trendnet camera's take the standard HIK firmware and are also EN/ML so are a good option.

I have been looking at cheaper versions on here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/DS-2CD2032F-I-replace-DS-2CD2032-I-POE-3MP-IP-camera-surveillance-CCTV-security-1080P-ipcam/32469984454.html?spm=2114.031010208.3.1.Xa9NFR&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_2_71_72_73_74_75,searchweb201527_2,searchweb201560_9

I could buy two for the price I will be paying for 1 at amazonand noticed this version has a sd card slot! which is great.

Although noticed it says dont upgrade the firmware not sure if thats a problem if works anyway.

Be aware that most likely if you went with the HIK from Amazon they will also be unable to upgrade firmware as they are Chinese Region cameras with English firmware applied. If you update the firmware your camera will default back to all Chinese. There are plenty of boards discussing this as well as how to fix it should it happen. Bottom line - these cameras are true HIK cameras, just a different region (china). They will work the same as US region cameras, you just can't update the firmware. Which honestly isn't a big deal as if the camera works to start you don't really need a firmware update as the firmware never adds major feature sets/changes. Bottom line - if it ain't broke, don't fix it and enjoy the price savings. Oh, also, if it is a China region camera HIKwill not support it/you should you contact them for help.

Firmware update is overrated with hik cameras. I never felt the need to update cause it always worked out of the box.

BTW the AE link seller has no feedback, and its expensive. You'll probably find one for the same price with free ship
