Hikvision Port 8000

Hi,
I have two questions.
1. If I want to access the DVR remotely do i need to allow the UPNP rules in the NAT tab in the DVR configurations (except for the router rules ) ?
2. What is the purpose of port 8000 ? which protocol is it ? is there any documentations for this protocol ? can i send data to this port without the iVMS ?

never use UPNP.

Read How to Secure Your Network (Don't Get Hacked!) in the wiki also.

Look at setting up an inbound vpn like OpenVPN on your network.
