Hit and run...

FWIW, NHTSA VIN decoder says it's a 2008 F-150, super crew (4 dr.), 4.6L V8, 4X2
I wish you (or LEO or Insur.Co.) well catching the a$$hole.
I'm hoping it's LEO because he really should be charged.

Thanks guys for all your help... I called the police to update the report with the possible tag number and they sent an officer over last night and I gave him the tag info and he looked it up and it is the same color type truck in the pic. He said the guy shows having good insurance so not sure why he would run...I dont understand either but I do know it was a mess. He T-boned me and pushed backwards into traffice that stopped at the intersection hitting two cars in those lanes as well. One was an older woman with a beautiful old cadillac that she was able to drive into a parking lot but looks to me like it will probably get totaled since its an older car... the other was a yukon that got the least of the damage of the three of us. I just hope the tag info works out ...the cop said they would go to the address listed on his title and check him out and add him to the report if its him...

good points... yesterday was also the Florida/Georgia game so probably a lot of drunks on the road actually
So did the accident happen at the intersection of Atlantic Blvd and Arlington Rd? From the angle of the photo, you look to be at the entrance to the CVS.

Good sleuthing! Besides the "Berry Ave." sign near the F-150, the Popeyes sign behind the OP's truck gives it away.

I know this area because I grew up in that area.

Oh, if the OP's profile didn't say JAX I certainly would never have found it...

yes, I was going straight down Atlantic blvd he was coming the opposite direction and turned left to go on arlington.....he tboned me directly in the middle of both driver and passenger door and pushed me into two cars in two different lanes of the intersection..bounce off them and landed at the corner...

WOW, but not surprising. Usually once the airbags go off, they consider it totaled. Can't believe they cannot tell you more?
If the airbags go off they total a car? That seems kind of crazy...I saw the repair estimate.. it was over 20k big chunk of it was the rear axle assy needed to be replaced too... KBB says trade in value was around 24k

I am sure it varies based on the type of vehicle, but my friends in insurance say that they figure $4k to replace an airbag, so depending on how many deployed that can add up quick, and then with what other damage there is, it is usually cheaper or not worth the hassle to cover repairing it.

Now that is info from several years ago and maybe the insane car prices right now have changed that mindset, but everyone I know that was in an accident where the airbags deployed, their vehicle was considered totaled.

The buck I hit @55 MPH on Christmas eve 2019 with my 2017 Ford Escape totaled it. Repairs were $11.5K to a KBB-valued vehicle of $16K. FWIW, the airbags did not deploy but it did burn out the clutches on both front seat belts....I saw them at the shop. I can attest to how hard they stopped us; for me from the bruise across my belly and hips (I'm on Coumadin, a blood thinner).

EDIT: FWIW, there's more damage than apparent; both doors wrinkled by both fenders; radiator, electric fan, shrouds, trans cooler, automatic vanes down at bottom scoop, belts, pulleys, & alternator busted....basically everything from the front of the engine forward.

I feel ya... I have some nice bruises across my shoulder, arm and back as well... plus the door impacted my hip and leg and cut my ankle.... if I was in my 20s still probably wouldnt have any bruises lol.. but closer to 60 now and bruise much easier
