How to get IP cams to email and FTP while connected to Nvr?

Hi I remember reading somewhere on the forum where while the cameras are connected to the Nvr, it's possible for them to email images of motion detection etc and also ftp the images.

but I can't seem to find the thread. Anybody have any ideas on how I could do this while the cameras are connected to my Hikvision ds-7608ni-e2/p nvr Poe ports? I have Hikvision ds-2cd2032-I cameras.

any help will be apreshiated.
