I'm getting another security cam system soon. I've been using geovision for decades and cheap analog cams. I have an I-7 pc with 16g of ram, so I think it may be powerful enough for Blue Iris. I'm a gadget freak, so I know I would love BI. My question is, how do I hook up cameras to the PC? I have a dvr card in my PC now, so it's obvious how to hook up cams as with a NVR. I know I would need a POE switch, but how to hook up the video cable to pc. I'm sure BI has the audio capability as long as the cam has a mic right? thanks Randy aka groran ( means big randy in french)

There is none, the IP camera's video is a digital stream, not analog, so it travels a data path over your network.
The only so-called "video cable" in the setup is between the BI PC (known oftentimes as the BI "Server") and the display monitor.

Welcome to IPCT and as stated above by @samplenhold , spend time reading, then re-read, the recommended sections and articles.
Also, read the questions and solutions in the Blue Iris forum.

Yes, and the BI PC has speakers.
