How to setup time lapse video?

For some reason I am having a heck of a time getting time lapse setup. What I have done so far:

• Created a duplicate of the camera
• Record Tab - Set Video Checked, Periodic, each, 5 seconds
• Alt/timelapse framerate = 5000000 [5.00 sec]

It seems like it is recording every 40-50 seconds and the time varies. I am expecting it to create a video with a frame every 5 seconds.

I am sure I just don't understand how this should be setup. Basically what I want to accomplish is a time lapse video with a frame taken every 5 seconds.

Set the recording to continuous..periodic serves a different function. It is explained in the help file.
