I've been reading about the Reaper botnet (The Reaper Botnet Has Already Infected a Million Networks) and have come away wondering....

If I am not using either the HTTPS or Server ports on my DS2-CD22032-I's, should I take the trouble to assign port numbers that are different from the defaults?

I have already done that for the HTTP and RTSP ports.

Turn of UPnP and remote admin access features in your router, and do NOT forward ports and then you have nothing to worry about.

HTTPS does not make your devices safe from hacking.

Changing the port number from the default is only the most minor of inconveniences for hackers.

FYI - super easy to scan and see what ports are open to the world from your router. Just an extra step to add in a malware bot.
