Blue Iris updated for me on Oct 25. When I try to use ui2.htm or login.htm,
for example:
http://192.168.0.6/login.htm, I get connection errors like:
This site can’t be reached
192.168.0.6 refused to connect.
If I use
http://192.168.0.6:83/login.htm (IE WITH THE PORT NUMBER) the browser (chrome) stops "thinking" after 2 seconds
and leaves me with a purely white blank page.
I checked port 83 using
Open Port Check Tool and it is indeed open.
I should perhaps mention that the Blue Iris software program running on my desktop computer has no problems displaying all my cameras.
The desktop computer running BI is at 192.168.0.6 and blue iris is set to use port 83. In my modem, port 83 is forwarded for Blue Iris.
I tried ui2.htm and login both with and without the port 83 number (because I wasn't sure which way to use).
Either way I just get error messages I've mentioned above. I tried internet explorer with similar results.
Two of my cameras are AXIS 213 IP cameras. I have port-forwarding set up for them and can access them on the WAN or LAN addresses
indepenently from Blue Iris. But other cameras are no IP cams so I need to use Blue Iris when I want to access them away from home.
In the instructions for using the blue iris
tools (ie ui2 or login. htm) I read somewhere that users might have to point
the file to the correct URL.
I can't find where in all that source code for the ui2.htm file, where I would change a URL or port number.
Also, I often use the IP CAM VIEWER APP on my android phone, but since the Blue Iris update the IP CAM VIEWER APP
no longer finds my cameras running on Blue Iris on my desktop computer.
Also, ever since that Blue Iris update, the Blue Iris
APP for android gives a "unable to reach server" error message.
I've checked that port 83 is indeed what BI is set to use and that the port is forwarded for the computer running it (192.168.0.6).
I've checked that the Blue Iris APP is looking at port 83 also, both for the LAN and the WAN addresses.
There were other issues before updating Blue Iris. I mention them because they might be related somehow to the problems above.
Since getting a new modem from CenturyLink a few months ago, I found that my android phone Blue Iris APP would
not connect to the WAN address (with port 83) unless I turned off the WI-FI on the phone or else got out of physical range of the WI-FI
by taking a walk outside a few hundred feet.
I understand that forces the phone use an phone data plan connection to the internet
but
I don't understand why it couldn't get to my WAN address while using a WI-FI connection to the internet.
The computer running Blue Iris is hard-wired (ie ETHERNET connection to the modem). It is
not connecting using WI-FI.
I've tried giving all the information you might need to help me figure out what is wrong. I hope someone can help me.
THANKS !!
