Exactly, but looks like I cannot access the NVR from outside the network, while the cams are ok. Within LAN I can access everything in the same subnet. What's bizarre is that when you try set to the same subnet NVR you'll get conflicting IP error message.
 
I've never tried this but you should be able to set different subnets, but change the subnet mask on the router so it can access that subnet the poe nvrs are on.

Where are you setting the IPs for that subnet?

What is the subnet mask on the POE ports anyways?

The way it works I believe is that each port on the NVR is linked to the corresponding IP for it's port number and that's it.
 
It only works when running initial wizard setup. It will not let you change that afterwards
