It doesnt have built in poe, however that can actually be a benefit..just you a poe switch..and you dont have to home run all cables to the nvr..just a single cable from the switch to NVR or switch to any network connection...http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-SF...sr=8-1&keywords=poe+switch&pebp=1418542507143

I will keep that in mind. Would make it alot more easy on the install if I'm honest. I can link all te cans to the switch in the loft and then like you say just 1 wire to the nvr. Would make it more simple and alot neater. I think I will go for the hikvision next time just for the fact it is a hikvision and should give me less grief than the cheaper models of nvr
