Trying to view my cameras from my ipad, failing. From laptop failing. Any help, anybody. I need step by step help. Don't know a thing about this. How important is the device id or serial number

You need to install the apps into your ipad or iphone or any smart phone.

Then, start to connect well the ip camera in local network, enter the series number into app, then, could be veiwed the video
