IP Cam's for Elderly

Hi there,

Just some advice for a newbie if possible please. I recently setup a Dahua NVR and 3 cams at my house and to be honest its fine but I tend to think its all a bit old hat what with the app and even logging into the software requiring the old IE browser to save any video files and even the login site uses http instead of https.

Anyway my point being that if and when I setup a couple of cameras and NVR for my elderly mother at her home is there a better easier camera setup that people would recommend please.
