Hi,

I have an IPC-Color4K-T camera, and I'm wondering if it's possible to configure the camera light to turn on only when motion or an object is detected, instead of staying on all the time.
Does anyone know if this can be adjusted in the settings?

It is not designed to do that.

These are not active deterrence cameras, so the lights are either on or off as this is a performance camera.

It needs light to see so, so it couldn't detect motion to trigger the light.

And we have lots of examples here of cameras missing the money shot due to a light turning on and the exposure temporarily washing out.

Thank you for the quick response :)
So there is no way to set that up? Damn
But don't the cameras get extremely hot when it runs for several hours?

Yes the cameras get hot, they are basically a 4-10 watt heater lol.

People have measured temps over 160F of the various cameras. They are designed for it.

If you know of what you are doing with APIs you can mimic a motion light with another camera triggering it, but the camera itself cannot do it.

Functionality what are you asking is only available on TIOC & TIOC-PRO camera lines...
they are hybrid light (both IR & white) and in smart mode they can turn-on white light on human/car motion detection...
