Got this when I tried to use these files:

upgrade took fine on my 2231. Seems to have cleared up my issue using the plugin on IE and I can now manage the cam properly with IE.
(previously, it kep saying I didn't have the plugin the installed, despite having done so quite a few times.)

that said, the missing 'backlight' controls for the channel 2 eyeball are still missing...

Andy, Any idea on how to get around my error when trying to update?

Has anyone been able to get the firmware to work. I’m getting the same error as Roger on my IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M . Any chance that the serial # on the camera label does not match the serial # in the camera setup can have anything to do with It?

I will make a testing here for this newer FW, will ask for if any new updates.

The file names are identical to the firmware's here: Latest New 20180813 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea
The PAL file size is different, NTSC's looks the same.
I don't know anything about this camera, just an observation. Seems odd.

The difference is the word "Multi" (for multiple lenses) in the firmware for this camera. Do I win a free camera for figuring this out?

@looney2ns when you updated the firmware did it blow out all your network settings or keep them? I ask because I wanted to upgrade but since the camera is remote if it wipes the network config then they are broke until I get back to that site.

No it didn't, but I also have not found any real changes from one firmware to the next. It is always best practice to set the camera back to factory defaults after updating. So in your situation, Unless your are having issue's with the cam, I wouldn't update while offsite.
