IPC-HDW5231R-ZE H.265 Firmware Bugs

This is necessary step.
Ah, I've never done that with my camera upgrades... Can we take a backup before the upgrade, do the upgrade, restore to defaults, and then restore the previous backup?

Just make a default after updating, then can use it.

The hash of the firmware for the 5231R-Z is the same as that for the 5231R-ZE, so the fw seems tha same.
Cheers,

I can confirm the fps issue on IPC-HDW5231R-Z (I don't have ZE version). No matter the setting it goes to 30fps. It's recording at 1080 for me though.

Same here.

Assuming I don't care that it's recording at 30 FPS instead of 20 FPS (I have adequate system resources to record at 30 FPS), is there any reason to downgrade the firmware?

This may already be clear, but for what it's worth I have this same firmware on a HFW5231-Z5 that is set up identically to the HDW5231-R-Z and the HFW has no issues.

It's bit strange, IPC-HDW5231R-ZE, IPC-HDW5231R-Z, IPC-HFW5231E-Z,Z5,Z12 all use the same firmware , i think maybe the different firmware Version?

Any thoughts on sticking with the 2017-03-06 firmware? I will be using BI soon, and the cameras only have access to the internet when I use my VPN.

Thanks.

Just FYI, I recently updated to the July software Andy mentioned and the zoom does not work in BI with the exact same settings I previously had for one of my 5321 cameras in BI. Not a huge deal as I only need zoom for the initial setup when I reposition the camera and it does still work with the Web GUI.
