If I'm understanding you the computer would loose it's IP in this scenario as the DHCP server that was assigning it an address is no longer there.I plug the camera to the Injector, plug a cord on the Injector Lan side to the computer and turn off wifi. I made sure ethernet port is enabled but config tool doesn't pick up the camera.
When the computer is connected to the router over wifi or ethernet, what LAN IP address is it being assinged? Open a command prompt / power shell by pressing Win-X then i. Then type ipconfig and hit return. Your computer's LAN IP will most likely be in in the form 192.168.1.xxx or 192.168.0.yyy. If it's on the 192.168.1.xxx subnet, you can simply connect the other side of the PoE injector to a port on your router. If not, you'd need to change some settings either assigning the computer a static IP temporarily or change the subnet your router is using.
