I would like to record 4 camera streams in iSpy @ 15fps. When only viewing (not recording), I can get 15fps but as soon as I record, frame rates drop to 8-10fps. The CPU indicator in iSpy goes from 45% to 95% when I record. My computer has an Intel Xeon E3-15135M v5 2.90Ghz processor and has both Intel HD Graphics P530 and NVIDIA Quadro M2000M listed under display adapters.

My question is would a pc with better dedicated GPU allow me to record @ 15fps?

Do iSPy use ffmpeg to (re)encode ? if yes then try activate hardware acceleration thru dedicated parameters (check ffmpeg doc)

Unstable video frames are caused by an unsufficient audio foundation, of course.

Provide actual details, and maybe someone can provide actual help.

We don't know what unstable video frames are.

We don't know what your camera is.

We don't even know if you are using iSpy. Not a lot of members here use iSpy by the way.

Is iSpy not very good? What would be a better free alternative?

iSpy is not free there's a recurring monthly perpetual fee for alerts and remote access ... Milestone will record it cameras for free. If you limit yourself to free software ...

Can you share a snapshot of the record tab? You can choose hw-accel o save uncompressed video.
