Recently I’ve begun testing the IVS Event trigger capabilities of my 5442 cameras. I’ve noticed false positives for Motion triggers when no vehicle or person OSS present. Is this pretty common?

No it is not common at all.

Make sure you don't have Motion Detection or Smart Motion Detection on in the camera. And turn motion detection off in BI.

Have you enabled person and vehicle on the camera and left min size as 0,0?

Thanks, I’ll check those settings when I get back home. Much appreciated!

Are you using the new BI with onvif xml? That's exactly what happended to me when I updated and tried the posted additions to the onvif 'code' Both 5442 cameras , one with 'vehicles' and one with 'person' intrusion triggered via IVS for no apparent reason

Yes, I'm testing this with the latest version of BI.

I have confirmed that Motion Detection and Smart Motion Detection are off on the cameras. In BI, the only trigger source is ONVIF/camera events.

I just disabled these two additions, we'll see if that helps.

OK, yeah the 5442s with the latest 5.7.5.x versions have been problematic and not triggering

You need to either roll back to pre 5.7.5 or use the IVS hack mentioned in the BI 5.7.5 thread.

I noticed something this morning while testing ONVIF IVS triggers from my 5442s. I’m testing with the latest version of BI and I have noticed that Intrusion IVS trigger are working via ONVIF without the two manually added additions made to the ONVIF configuration in BI for the cameras. Tripwires continue to not work however.

5.7.6.2 all I did was update to this version
and my 5442 that uses intrusion for cars activated and recorded properly, firmware 2.840.15OG008.0.R, Build Date: 2022-02-18

Also my zoomed person intrusion 5442 worked, firmware:2.840.15OG00D.0.R, Build Date: 2022-08-18

@JL-F1 That's progress! Glad to see someone else confirm what I noticed this morning while testing v5.7.6.2. No we wait patiently for tripwire to start working.

Agree!

Even my Annke NCD800, which I had never gotten to work with IVS/onvif is working, one less camera that needs to spend Code Project GPU time :)

I’ve given up on CPAI and exclusively use the built in Dahua IVS. It seems to work better and I don’t have to fix CPAI stuff after every release they put out.

I can understand that. I just recently started testing the built-in AI in my 5442s. While detecting for people and vehicles, I get occasional false positives with tree shadows blowing in the wind. I've never noticed that with CPAI.

Can you post a video sample?

Do you have an SD card in the camera that you can playback the event with the IVS rules on to see why it triggered?

Have you done the global config?

It might be something as simple as adjusting an IVS rule a little. Mine never go off for tree shadows.

Here's a sample. No Human or Vehicle, but it triggered anyway.

Here's the Intrusion zone and settings.

At that tight of a field of view, drop the sensitivity way down. You could probably go to 3 or 4 and still pick up every human or vehicle.

And if that doesn't fix it, then global config probably will.
