Hello All

So I have just been brought back a brand Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-IW from China and I did not realise I would need to flash the firmware to change the language.

Using SADP it says I have Software version v.5.3.0 Build 150513

So I am guessing I need to downgrade using this post: https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/4036-Custom-Firmware-Downgrader-5-3-0-Chinese-to-5-2-5-English

But it says: NOTE: This is not for 2cdxxx0 or xxx5 models Can anyone confirm this is safe to flash to my device as my device type in SADP is DS-2CD2432F-IW

Is this 5.2.5 the latest english firmware for me device

thanks so much in advance!

Is yours model 2cdxxx0 ? or xxx5 ? No.

Can anyone confirm it's safe? Not really no, you could flash it and camera stops working.

Can camera be recovered if that happens? Most probably, yes.

i just used the link above to re-flash a chinese 2032 from 5.3.0 down to 5.2.5.

Then i did the 'mtd hack' to get English.
https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/3474-Hikvision-5-2-5-amp-5-2-8-Full-English-(INC-DAYS-OF-WEEK)-mtd-Hack
This requires enabling telnet on the cam and setting up the 'storage' settings to use a NAS (I used a USB fob on my openwrt router as an NFS mount)

As Del Boy points out, once you've got the tfpd working, you can always reload the original hik firmware that came on it.

Earlier, I followed this youtube video and setup the shared drive and now it wont stop making a loud alarm noise everytime I plug the power back in

Is there a setting to turn on POE? as at the moment I have only unplugged the power cable and the ethernet cable is still plugged in but it does not seem to be powered

It's about $100, including shipping, on AliExpress.
I got it for 540 Chinese Yuan - which is about £60

I got 2 to play with and they will send me more if I can set these up successfully :)

no setting. 'normal' network connection does not provide power, but
if you provide power on the ethernet (as from a PoE switch or PoE injector,)
then no power is needed on the 12V cam input...

what sort of router/switch are you connecting the cam to?

It will be complaining that the NetHDD isn't formatted. No need to format for data transfers.
In the web GUI, Advanced Configuration | Basic event | Exception tab | Drop-down 'HDD Error' and untick 'Audible warning'

Thank you Alastair - I will try this when I get time!

I was wondering which POE powerline / homeplug everyone recommends here? Maybe one that is compatible with TP-Link?

thank you guys for the quick responses and help! this forum is great :)

I flashed my DS-2CD2432F with "5.30 Downgrader 4lines" and now I can not change the gateway or the ip address using SADP or iVMS4200.

I have changed the router IP address to 192.168.1.1 and it is still not working - I keep getting the "time out." error when changing IP

After flashing the above would the password change or keep the old one?

I have tried to change the camera IP to 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.100 without success

If i go to 192.168.1.64 (before and after i changed the routers/gateway IP) - i do not get a webpage like before I downgraded the camera. I use to be able to view the webcam and login on a browser

the password would revert to whatever the default is for the version you flashed.
i think it's '12345' for that version. if not, try '123456789abc' or '1234567abc'...

These passwords are not working and I have also tried http://www.ipcamtalk.com/hik-pw-reset.php

SADP can see the camera on my network but if I go to 192.168.1.64 it will not bring the login page.

I believe the 5.30 Downgrader 4lines flash is not working for my device...

I think I actually hate this IP camera..

I have just tried to reflash and it gets stuck on "TFTP server[192.0.0.128] initialized"

Do I need to upgrade the firmware back to original firmware and get it working again before I can downgrade again?

no, you should be able to reflash the hacked 5.2.5 at any time.
you must have something not set up correctly. PC's IP at 192.0.0.128? PC and cam connected to a switch?
run tfptd with the desired firmware (digcap.dav) in the same directory, then power up the cam...

Its still not working. i am now plugging it directly into my PC, I have Kaspersky and windows firewall off and running tftpserv.exe as admin with either Windows 7 or XP compatability...

I have just tried to flash Baseline Firmware_IPC_En_V5.3.0 150513 (2XX2)(New) from http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/download_89.html#prettyPhoto - same issue, tftp gets stuck on "[2016-06-03 19:52:11] TFTP server[192.0.0.128] initialized"
