laptop webcam as a additional IP camera?

Hello forum. I’ve learned a great deal from just lurking here.

I’m running blue iris at my house and have 8 wired POE cameras inside and out. It works great.

What I am wondering is can a laptop be used as an additional camera? I have a laptop that has a web camera and is it possible to set this up as an additional security camera and view it through Blue Iris?


Any replies are greatly appreciated.

Yes but its silly... leaving a laptop on for that purpose....but an indoor camera
