Lorex NR816-N or NR8163W

Hi,

I'm new to this forum hope somebody on here can help me.
I have Lorex NR8163W NVR I upgraded the firmware, but after that the NVR keeps rebooting in a loop.

I connected via the serial port to try flashing it with the firmware again.
But I'm not Able to stop the U-Boot auto boot. It show me. Hit any key to stop autoboot (3 sec).
But I press key and it doesn't respond.

I'm suspecting there is a hidden trick. any of you guys knows it?

Any help would be golden!

Did you try turning on the machine without the hard drive attached?

Either:
- Unplug all cameras from the NVR then turn on the NVR
- Open the NVR and unplug the hard drive and then start the NVR

In both cases your NVR should start IF and only IF the problem is related to your hard drive. If it still does loop reboot while the HD is unplugged, you may have a bigger problem.

Already try all those steps. still keeps rebooting after 5mins.
First I see the Lorex by Flir Logo than a black screen for 5mins. and than reboots again.

I have hook a an serial cable to the serial port and used putty. And I see the boot steps. and it goes into busybox terminal.
If there were a way to re install the firmware via this way?

I had good success working with Lorex customer service. Have you tried reaching out?

Thank for replying. Already figured it out. Manage to flash the firmware via TFTP.
