Lorex NVR will not support full-screen motion alert

Greetings! This is my first time posting here and I'm hoping someone can help... I just purchased the 4K NR9082X NVR with 6 4K cameras from Lorex over the Black Friday weekend. I put up the system on the bench with a couple of cameras and realized that the system seems to lack the ability to go full-screen on the system monitor when a motion event occurs. My current DVR has a check box to enable this for each camera. No such check box on the new Lorex system. This capability is important to me, since I have the my current system monitor mounted in the living room and use it live-view activity around the house and property while at home. I did some searching and discovered that previous, old Lorex models were able to do this. Called Lorex and after several consultations between my tech and others in the office, I was told that this function is no longer available. Is anyone else able to get the full screen popup on a current Lorex or Dahua NVR?

HI Don,

Interesting use case, I had not thought of that one.

Normally I like to have a couple of camera covering critical areas to maximize my chances of getting a good ID image. This would mean the system would be challenged to decide which view to force as the main view- that is probably why you do not see this option frequently as then the lesser views get hidden - and there could be some issues with how the system decides which view is more important to show when you have more than one cameras showing motion.

My old system latches the full-screen for about 4-5 seconds, then goes back to the tiled screen. That gives us time to tell if there is a car (or just a dog) in the driveway. I looked at a Hikvision manual and they still support this function. I guess I was hoping someone here had a workaround, so I wouldn't need to send the Lorex back.

Hi Don,

Someone may... I'm by no means an expert on these kits.

The early lorex systems were made by hikvision and therefore supported that function.
A vms like blue iris can do this as well, even better you can tile it so the primary camera is larger than the rest and when motion is detected that camera gets placed in the large slot yet you can still view the others albeit smaller.
