Malibu Fires

If this moves forward will it be any different than the last recall effort?

I doubt it, because mega farmer Stewart Resnick will donate to his campaign to fight a recall.

I've been reading about that family and how they have so much control of the water

The only aid those trucks are capable of is for when a hibachi gets too hot at a tailgate party. I grew up in CA and left for the east coast in the late 70's with much regret. I returned 10 years later with the intention of moving back, which I never did. That was an eye opening experience to say the least. What a shame that what was once a shining star for the US is now a toxic dump.
The wife and I took a trip a few years ago driving the coast of Oregon, awesome experience, flew into Portland, rented a car, first stop was Astoria in Washington when we got down to Crescent City (California) on our way to the Redwoods, it was like going to down to Mexico from Texas. Huge difference from Oregon...Homeless everywhere, nothing looked safe. Gas prices much higher. It is sad California got destroyed like that. I understand big cities, in Texas we deal with homeless like any other large city but not much in our smaller towns. Also noticed graffiti everywhere. We actually stayed in Crescent City since we had our trip planned out. Did not sleep well, hoping nothing would happen to the rental or us...the Redwoods fixed all of that. While in Crescent City, we drove the Howland Hill Road, an awesome dirt road through the Redwoods. Oh, while in the Redwood National Forest we saw the burnt out trees, amazing how these trees are still standing and are alive with leaves. Pretty wild...

I can understand a child or maybe even a young teen not comprehending the volatility of gasoline, but a grown-ass man?

Although not recommended, he probably has seen someone slosh some on a fire from a container of charcoal lighter fluid (varation of naptha) and may have done it himself and thought WRONGLY it could be done with gasoline.

People have been burned terribly doing what he did. reminds me of people dropping a frozen turkey in a pot of boiling oil......pure stupidity.

Hate to admit, when we moved out here, our burn piles where pretty big and not going very well. At first I did not use any starter for the first few burns, summer time, but after fighting keeping a good burn going I introduced gasoline. I would make sure I got all around the pile with the gas pour. Well after two burns that blew outward about 10 feet diameter when I threw a newspaper lit on it, I called a friend who burns alot. What I was doing wrong is not lighting it fast enough, the liquid gas was putting off gases and the slight wind was spreading them pretty quick. So, I needed to light right after I poured the gas before the gases spread.

As a kid we played with gasoline alot, learned alot, would pour a trail, on concrete road and light it to see how fast it would burn down the trail. Would pour gas on things to watch them burn. Sorry, this may sound bad, but if that guy would of done what we did as kids, he would not of had his gas can in hand trying to add more gas to an existing fire.

California Governor And L.A. Mayor Diverted Billions From Fire-Fighting To Migrant, Homeless, And Climate Subsidies

But... but.... but.... they supported DEI and efforts to combat climate change! C'mon fellow Kalifornicans...now's OUR time to support THEM ! Let's reject recalls but re-elect and support them when/where we can!

Let's forget how much damage the unbridled and out-of-control fires have contributed to the atmosphere, reversing so much past efforts to NOT further environmental damage.

</end sarcasm>

They were so confident on not having fires EVERY YEAR because they have been fighting climate change. From the stringent smog standards to banning burning wood at homes… Even not allowing homes to have natural gas anymore. Oh how can I forget shamming people that water their lawns..

How could anyone ever assume they might need to ever fight a fire!?

I saw this post on another forum.

"I’m just waiting for the day that this clown brigade of LAFD “leadership” repaints all the fire trucks pride colors!"

Graphic seems appropriate
