Hi there

I have the DS764NL NVR paired with a third party (Besview) 4MP ip cam. It will output 2k 2560x1550?

But in the options of the nvr 1920x1080p is the maximum i can achieve. Although on the box of the nvr it states recording up to 5MP

Something I'm doing wrong here?

Thanks

Is that for the HDMI output or for the NVR camera video settings?
Do you have 'capture mode' enabled in the NVR camera settings? That puts a ceiling on the recording resolution.

Yep i understand the 1080p limitation with the tv i have it hooked up to thats fine. But locking a 4mp to 2mp is a bit odd. i will take a look at capture mode thanks

Nothing is wrong.
The NVR can record up to 5MP. (it doesn't mean it will show you 5MP in live view or play back if your NVR doesn't support it)
The NVR output is only 1920x1080p. (Doesn't matter if you add 2MP or 4MP or 5MP the max resolution your NVR is going to give you in live view or playback is 1920x1080p. But if you download the video you have 5MP resolution)

Look under Record > Parameters. This will tell you what the camera is recording at.
