We observed these guys at one of our customer's properties. They walked the entire property and were looking into the store through the windows on the front of the building, then they walked around the back of the property. We had P.D. there pretty quick. They set up a perimeter but must have just missed these guys. Maybe the fact that they were on foot is why they were able to disappear pretty quick. The end of the video shows a K-9 officer climbing the fence and bringing his malinois with him. We got kinda backed up on these over the holiday.

One look at how those characters were dressed its obvious they were up to no good. How warm was it at the location, it looked too warm for dark hoodies.
 
Those two gents gave away as few identifying characteristics as possible. Non-descript black clothing for the most part, except blue shorts on one young man and colorful sneakers on the other. They either knew (or assumed) security cameras were covering the property. They also had an excellent feel for the amount of time they could scout the area before Police would likely respond. Young but professional. Probably did preliminary footwork on several retail properties that evening. Knew how to skirt the open areas and reduce their visibility.
Excellent work on the video - very compelling to watch. You're good at what you do.

One guy seemed to be using a cell phone. Maybe in constant touch with a lookout? Which might explain how they slipped away?

Didn't catch the cell phone action - yes, constant lookout updates from the various approaches perhaps. It's smart because they really haven't done anything worth the Police's time yet. They can plead ignorance if they're caught but they are young, athletic and probably gifted with foot speed - and can likely disappear from anything but a GSD, Mal or Dutchee. God bless em. They're like cockroaches.....they come out when the lights are out and sneak around.

Oh, I dunno....I just can't stand thieves, the cockroaches at least are just doing what they're intended to do.
