Greetings,

In general, when an NVR is set to record motion events, is the NVR detecting the motion in the video stream or is the camera giving a notification to the NVR?

I ask because I am looking at several systems made up of a variety of manufacturers. I have not been able to get motion detection working on any cameras.

Thanks.

The camera does it..pc based vms software can do its own motion detection...

There is one ICRealtime and one Hikvision NVR. They both have an assortment of Axis, Samsung and Hikvision cams.

Using Onvif for most. I think the Axis are connected via an Axis preset in both NVR brands.
