I have a 16 port NVR with 7 cameras directly connected to it. I also have a Poe switch connect connected directly to the NVR. but i noticed all the cameras on the Poe switch are all showing one after the other in only one channel of the NVR. i expected these cameras to show in their individual channels.

NVR and camera brand?
it's POE NVR why use with a POE switch?

Hi Oluseyi,
Did you find solution so far?
I'm currently facing the same same issue while all my equipment is same brand. NVR, switch Poe and cameras.
If someone has solution or workaround suggestion please help.

Could this be bots talking to each other?

If this is a Hikvision NVR, the PoE ports will only connect to one camera at a time.
If the PoE switch is connected to an NVR PoE port only one camera at a time will connect.
The PoE switch needs to connect to the same network as the NVR LAN interface, not an NVR PoE port.

My guess is that you might be using a NVR with a Zero Channel feature. On Dahua or Dahua OEM DVR/NVRs and mainly on an OEM NVR this can be problematic.. How does someone get to this setup. Well normally when you look at the NVR there are 2 sides at the bottom that can show a Grid layout. If you happen to click on the right side grid and pick lets say 16ch mode or even 8ch mode it will load them channels in 1 channel.. Then if you have one of the problem devices all menu and all action that you do at the GUI will be translated into the 1 channel.. See Pictures below.. I will upload 3 pictures even showing that with a problem NVR you can see everything in the NVRs GUI setup even the Menus and even the input of the Pattern if you have it setup and have other users this means if Zero channel is enabled and in use, they can see you log in and even adding in extra cameras that you might not want them to have access too..
