Planning to buy a HDW5231R-ZE but noticed that it is only available in PAL. Should I worry about it (PAL vs NTSC)? I'm in CA.

Thanks.

Doesn’t matter which you take... in PAL you see more pixels

Ntsc and pal is a old tv thing. A new tv’s and other grahfic devices are at least 1920x1080

See this link: NTSC - Wikipedia

Hi CPO - as biscuit points out - don't worry, no need to with IP cameras.

Standard ntsc is 525 tvl
Standard pal 640 tvl

Actually tvl refers to horizontal resolution in an analog camera system. Television lines - Wikipedia
I believe what you are trying to point out is that the analog television standards had a different number of scan lines. PAL - 625/ 25 fps and NTSC - 525/ 30fps
PAL - Wikipedia In practice PAL was somewhat higher resolution than NTSC, but that was in the old analog days.

Only the frame rates are different with IP cams and the sub streams may be different resolutions. Same pixels NTSC or PAL on an IP cam.

Cannot find the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE camera on the Dahua website (www1.dahuasecurity), only the IPC-HDW5231R-Z. If I search for HDW5321R-ZE, it shows the page but
browser won't open any of the links (Datasheet, User Manual,...). can you send me a link for the firmware?upload_2018-1-10_9-38-46.png
