Need Buyers help for Dahua Camera

Color4K is a toy with a lots of problems (lack of sharpness, heavy digital processing, compression artifacts, underpowered CPU/SOC).. I don't use it in any installations at all.

Color4K-T180 is only overview camera, which don't see IR (only white light). Sometimes I use it in installations where I have very long wall and need to put camera in middle. It have big 2 meter half circle dead spot under camera. For 7-8 meters height very bad idea....

54IR-ZE (plus telephoto version 54IR-Z4E) - 90% used by me for installations cams are 5442 (54IR) in different versions.. most universal (different versions, different lenses etc), very good at night (with some street / garden lighting), huge AI functionality, best value for the money cam..

is there any chance to install those cams lower?
you can use bullet and mount to horizontal wall lower (but you need there cat5 cable)...

in case of installation at 7-8 meters You will have very big problems with human faces.. people which will be 5 or less meters from camera, will be captured from up (top of heads not face)..
that camera height will only work for people at LONG DISTANCE from camera (but then face details will be small without optical zoom).

if 7-8 meters is the only option, to have chance to record faces You will need to mount / direct and zoom those cameras for places at distance (opposite side of bulding/area) around house...

normally You mount 2 overview cams in front of building - on left and right side.. both cams record overview at 90-110 degree horizontal and records people under camera. Both records all front of building plus everything which is in front of house.
With those overview camera You can Identify people from 4Mpx cams up to around 7 meters and Recognize up to 14 meters (DORI distances from camera spec sheet). For more You install third camera with strong optical zoom (Z4E) directed at entrances.

in You case You must mount 2 very zoomed-in cameras which will record only opposite sides of building (from center to the end) plus much smaller area in front of building. Plus third camera above entrance which will be directed/zoomed into plot entrance.

With 7-8 meter hight installation directing camera at places AT DISTANCE from camera (and using strong optical zoom-in) is the only method to record faces from front side of people (not up side).
Recording people at distance is the only way to lower angle from which camera captures people / cars..

For that You will need probably 54IR-Z4E model (which have optical zoom 3x-9x - 45 to 15 degree horizontal FoV - this is not overview camera), which is only available as bullet or dome (there is no turret option - optics is too big for turret).

Even with that, You installation have worse characteristics as typical one done at 3 meters height.

if its only about overview and not face detection, is it still possible to get detection from object or person who are for example in my garden beside face recognition?

important for me, is that i get info when something enters my home. its not about knowing exactly who it is, but if the cameras can even detect anything that would be bad.

yes, people / cars detection / filtering will work even for that height..

but as I told, strong optical zoom and directing camera at places in distance from camera is STRONGLY recommended.

The 5442 series (T54IR-ZE s3) is the go-to camera for most of us

Now called T54IR-ZE s3? I best check in on IPCT more often

Can you toss up a picture of your outside installation so we can see why it's not possible to bring the cameras lower?
I have multiple height cameras. 4 at the 6 foot height to point directly at faces so that light reflection off a face is not obscured by hats or bowing head down. These are 2 x 5442 series (er...as I just found out, now called T54IR series), and 2 x 5412's (?). Most other cameras (including SD4 PTZ) at roof eave height of 9 or 10'. A couple up 16' for general coverage. With so many cameras at different angle, I need the general coverage because my old brain has trouble putting all the different camera angle heights together into a mental 3d image.
